Bracelets
Most bracelets require a lot of planning and thought at the onset of making one and because of the constant movement of the wrist, bracelets take a lot of abuse. Simply put, they get banged around a lot. Perhaps that's where the name came from for the bangle. When making a bangle bracelet, it has to fit over the hand comfortably, yet be snug enough not to slip off. For this reason, most bangles are narrow in size, rather like a wedding ring. The cuff bracelet makes it easier to put it on the wrist and allows for designs of greater width and variety. All other bracelets need some sort of a closure or clasp and this is where bracelets can get complicated in the making and expensive for the time it takes to build a great clasp. At Mary Ann Archer, all the above considerations are taken when we design and make a bracelet. The human body must be considered and planned for so that a piece of jewelry is not only beautiful, but comfortable to wear. We hope to have all styles of bracelets in our inventory and we love to make bracelets that are unique as our customers. The average size for a bracelet is 7.5" - 8" and this depends on the style and width. Narrow bracelets can be worn a smaller size. For all special requests, please contact us at our store.
